TEXARKANA, TX (KSLA) -

Texas Roadhouse announced Thursday that the restaurant's fundraiser raised $8,000 for the family of slain Texarkana, Texas police officer William Sprague.

Sprague died June 15 as a result of his injuries after he was hit by a vehicle on June 14 while responding to a disturbance.

In response, Texas Roadhouse hosted a free lunch and eating challenge to raise money for Sprague's family. A dinnertime fundraiser was held later that evening as local police officers headed to the rib-eating arena for an eating challenge. All of the food and even the employees' time was donated.
