PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Several of the jurors in the Jodi Arias trial showed up to Thursday's status conference hearing.  Many of them said they needed to do so for closure.

The jury found Arias guilty of first-degree murder on May 8 in the death of her ex-boyfriend, Travis Alexander. Alexander was stabbed nearly 30 times and shot in the head in June 2008.

The jury could not reach a decision on life or death for Arias and the jury declared a mistrial. The retrial in the penalty phase of the case is expected to begin July 18.

One of those jurors who was at the courtroom Thursday was Diane Schwartz.

"After five months of what we went through and not being able to reach a unanimous decision, we still have an interest in what's occurring," Schwartz.

Since convicting Arias of first degree murder, many of the jurors say they've suffered nightmares.

"Different pictures, the reality of what happened and the attacks in the bathroom and different things about what happened," juror Tara Kelley said.

Since the trial, the jurors have also been able to see a lot of evidence not presented in court, such as videos of Arias being questioned by detectives and interviews Arias did after her conviction.  For Kelley, it just made the decision to find her guilty of first-degree murder the right one.

"It proves a lot of what I felt as the trial went on that she was a compulsive liar and that a lot of it was all about her," Kelley said.

All of the jurors believe an impartial jury for the sentencing phase can and will be found. And Kelley has this advice for them.

"Stay committed. You know we were all so committed to this. We came when we were sick, we came when we had migraines, we came when we had deaths in the family, just stay committed, rely only on what's being proven," Kelley said.
