Investigators believe this little girl who was brought to the emergency room at LSU Hospital bruised and unconscious died of blunt force trauma.
SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
Preliminary autopsy results indicate a 3-year-old girl who was brought bruised an unresponsive to the emergency room at LSU Hospital Monday night died as the result of blunt force trauma.
Police say 32-year-old Tarika Wilson brought the little girl, now identified as Rizcheir Muskelly, to LSUHSC around 9 p.m. Monday night. She was pronounced dead in the emergency room. Police said the child had visible signs of trauma on several areas of her body.
Authorities say Muskelly's mother is in prison, and Wilson was left to care for the child.
After reviewing the preliminary autopsy results suggesting that Muskelly died as a result of blunt force trauma, Wilson was booked into the Shreveport City Jail and charged with second degree murder late Tuesday night.
Jail booking details say Wilson allegedly beat Muskelly with an extension cord.
