HAUGHTON, LA (KSLA) -

Louisiana's Department of Transportation and Development is holding an informational meeting about proposed improvements along the U.S. 79/80 corridor in Haughton.

The meeting is set from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Eastwood Baptist Church at 2810 U.S. Hwy. 80 in Haughton. Officials say a formal presentation will begin promptly at 6 p.m.

DOTD representatives will be there to provide information and answer questions about the project.

The improvements are designed to redesign about a half mile of the corridor to improve safety and help traffic flow, DOTD officials say.

The meeting should allow the public to learn more about the improvement project and to sign up to receive future email updates about the project.
