TEXARKANA, TX (KSLA) -

Funeral arrangements have been finalized for the Texarkana, TX police officer who died from injuries he suffered in a hit and run while on duty.

Visitation for Officer William Sprague will be Tuesday, June 18, 2013, from 5:00pm-8:00pm, in the atrium at First Baptist Church Moores Lane in Texarkana, Texas.

The funeral, with full police honors, will be Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 10:00am at First Baptist Church Moores Lane.  Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery in Malvern, Arkansas.  Arrangements are with Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.

Police say Sprague was intentionally struck early Friday morning by an SUV driven by 21-year-old Justin Sanders of Texarkana while Sprague was responding to a disturbance call at Grady T. Wallace Park.

Sprague was taken to Christus St. Michael's Hospital, where he died early Saturday morning.

According to Texarkana, TX police, Sprague is the fourth officer in the history of the department to die in the line of duty.

Sanders was booked into the Bi-State Justice Center on a charge of aggravated assault on a public servant. There is no word yet on what new charges Sanders may face.
