Four Demon games on TV for 2013 season

The Northwestern State football team will make at least four television appearances this fall, two for home games along with the Oct. 12 Southland Conference opener at Nicholls and the annual league rivalry game against McNeese State.

The conference has announced its largest-ever TV slate, with 19 games on three outlets:  the award-winning Southland Conference Television Network (eight games), ESPN3 (six games), and Comcast SportsNet Houston (five games).

Two of the Demons'  TV games will be on the Southland TV Network that serves nearly two dozen stations in Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas.

The Oct. 12 game at Nicholls will kick at 3 p.m. on the Southland Network, along with a Nov. 9 home game at Turpin Stadium, a league battle with Lamar.

The Nov. 2 home game with Central Arkansas will kick off at 7 p.m. and will be on ESPN3, as  will the Nov. 16 visit to Lake Charles to play McNeese.

The season-ending NSU-Stephen F. Austin game on Nov. 23 could be a wild card selection for the Southland Network, as it has been several times in recent years, including last season.

That would not change the previously-announced 3 p.m. kickoff for that rivalry contest.
