Local law enforcement and fire departments are joining the effort to collect blood donations for a Shreveport woman still recovering from a wreck in April.
Lauren Fogger-Tigges, 26, was in a car crash on Blanchard-Latex Road in north Caddo Parish on April 22. Her car flipped several times after her passenger side tires apparently hit some soft dirt on the shoulder of the road and she over-corrected.
The car finally came to a rest upside down, with Lauren still strapped in her seat.
Tigges has had more than a dozen surgeries since the crash, as doctors try to save her arms. She is currently recovering at Parkland Hospital in Dallas.
The "Cuffs & Hoses" blood drives kicked off Wednesday at the Shreveport City Marshall's Office and will continue through Saturday at the following locations:
Thursday, June 13 5:30a.m. - 3:30p.m. 8:30p.m. - Midnight Shreveport Police Department 1234 Texas St.
Friday, June 14 8:30a.m. - 12p.m. Sheriff Safety Town 8910 Jewella Ave. Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office 501 Texas St.
