SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport Police investigating a three-vehicle wreck involving a police car Wednesday evening had to close a Fairfield neighborhood intersection. One person was arrested.

Police have set up road blocks on Highland Avenue at College Street to keep traffic away from the scene as they investigate the accident that sent two people to the hospital.

Police say their preliminary investigation suggests that at about 4:30 p.m. the driver of a black SUV ran a STOP sign and hit a marked police cruiser. The collision sent both vehicles spinning, and the police cruiser T-boned a third vehicle, a blue SUV.

The police officer and the driver of the blue SUV were taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Police arrested one person, but it's unknown why.

Stay tuned to KSLA News 12 for updates on when police will open the area to traffic.
