SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Funeral arrangements have been set for the ArkLaTex man who drowned in Gulf Shores, Alabama over the weekend.

25-year-old Matthew Hattaway's body was pulled from the surf on Sunday afternoon, not long after he was reportedly seen trying to rescue a youngster from the rough waters.

He was one of four men who drowned along the beaches in dangerous rip currents in the Gulf of Mexico in a two-day period.

Hattaway went to Southwood High School and the University of Monroe. Family members say he was recently engaged and living in Bossier City.

Visitation Hattaway will be held Thursday at Brookwood Baptist Church in Shreveport from 4 - 7 p.m.

The funeral will be held Friday, same location, at 10 a.m.
