TEXARKANA, AR (KSLA) -

Texarkana, Arkansas Mayor Wayne Smith says the city will not hire an outside firm to find a new manager. The city's board of directors will do the search.

Smith says the move will save taxpayers more than $20,000.

Candidates should hold a bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration or a related field.

"Whoever the applicant is, he is going to have to have good communication skills, strong management skills and good financial experience," Smith says.

If you want to apply, you can submit your resume to Texarkana, Arkansas City Hall, 216 Walnut St. Applications should be in no later than July 15.
