Friends of Amber Lacy caught up with their injured classmate through facetime at the carwash they called "Project Shakeback."

"Project Shakeback for Amber. Amber, I love you. You got us out here in this heat, so this better be worth it. I love you," said JaCory Wright.

Amber suffered major injuries when a truck smashed into her car on Clyde Fant Parkway nearly three weeks ago. Jaylen Bowers is one of Amber's closest friends. He says even though they were working in the heat, it's all for a good cause and it was still a good day. "Overall, we had fun. We had a good time. Hung out together and supported Amber and raised money for her family to show our support. To show her that we're here for her and behind her every step of the way."

Through the sweat, there was still time to take advantage of the water hose to cool down. Multiple water fights broke out through the day and Wright was right in the middle of them,"Yeah, it was pretty fun. Me and a few people got into a few water fights. I got hit with a bucket a few times but I got them back."

After all long day's work, the students are still focused on the reason they're working. Bowers sends this message to his friend, "Amber, just know that we love you and that we're all out here pulling for you. We're praying for you every day and every night. I hope you make a speedy recovery."

After the final count, the students raised over 800 dollars to go towards Amber's hospital bills in Shreveport and in Dallas.
