2 men feared drowned still missing in Miller County, AR
Emergency personnel in Miller County meet at the site.
The capsized fishing boat was pulled from the water.
MILLER CO, AR (KSLA) -
Two men are still missing more than 24 hours after their boat capsized while fishing on the Red River in Miller County, Arkansas.
Multiple rescue agencies were called to the site at the Hwy. 82 boat ramp in Garland City after receiving a 911 call just after 3 p.m. Friday about a possible drowning.
Miller County Sheriff Ron Stoval says three people were fishing when the boat tilted and all three were thrown overboard. 29-year-old Julia Lopez of Texarkana was pulled from the water, but 60-year-old Bill Cooper of Utah, and 57-year-old John Fairbanks, from the Texarkana area remain missing.
Lopez is the daughter of Cooper and the boyfriend of Fairbanks, authorities say.
It's not known if any of them were wearing life jackets.
Agents with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission have taken over the search, which they say has been made difficult by high waters.
Search crews are expected to return to search again on Sunday.
