SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

There is a giant, flying "minion" in the skies over the ArkLaTex. The one-eyed, overall-wearing character is featured on a blimp advertising the premiere of Universal Studios' "Despicable Me 2."

According to a website dedicated to the "Despicablimp," the 165' long airship is one of only 15  flying in the world.

It's headed from Monroe, LA to Dallas and ultimately on to Los Angeles with tour stops along the way to publicize the movie.

It passed through the Shreveport-Bossier around midday Tuesday. It was spotted hovering just over the east bound lanes of traffic on I20 in Bossier City near Bossier Parish Community College around 12:30 pm.

Pilot Allan Judd also snapped several pictures of the area from above, sharing them on a dedicated Twitter account, @Despicablimp.

"Despicable Me 2" opens in theaters July 3.
