The LSU Tigers got the overall number four seed for this year's NCAA College World Series, and will host one of the 16 Super Regionals at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge.
LSU (52-9) took the SEC Baseball Championship over the weekend with a 5-4 win over Vanderbilt in 11 innings.
Despite the loss, Vanderbilt (51-9) still got the number two overall ranking for the tournament. The number one spot went to North Carolina (52-8) while Oregon State (45-10) was ranked number three. In order, after LSU, are Cal State Fullerton (48-8), Virginia (47-10), Florida State (44-15) and Oregon (45-14).
Arkansas will head to Manhattan, Kansas, to play Bryant University in the Kansas State Regional. This is the first time the Smithfield, Rhode Island school will play in the tournament.
This is also the first appearance for the University of Central Arkansas, which will play their regional game in Starkville, Mississippi at Mississippi State.
The conference with the most teams in this year's tournament is the SEC with nine. The ACC has eight, while the PAC-12 and Sun Belt Conferences each have four.
All regional games begin play on May 31 in a double-elimination format. The College World Series will begin on June 15 in Omaha, Nebraska. Click here for more information on this year's tournament.
