ASCENSION PARISH, LA (WAFB) -

Investigators say a man kicked his dog to death, then bound it in electrical tape and left it in a field.

According to reports, Jacob Blackwell, 25, killed the dog after it was being uncooperative, taped it up and abandoned it in a field along Black Bayou Rd. to make it seem like someone else killed the dog.  The dog was found Sunday evening.

Blackwell has also been charged in connection with the death of a cat that was found Monday in the same field.

He has been charged with two counts of animal cruelty.
