CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

A North Caddo Parish home was heavily damaged, after a fire broke out in the master bedroom early Wednesday afternoon.

The call came in at 12:23 p.m. from a neighbor reporting smoke and flames coming from the home in the 6900 block of Soda Point Drive.

Firefighters from Caddo Parish Fire District 7 arrived on the scene to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the master bedroom. They had to cut through the roof to attack the blaze.

No one was home at the time of the fire, which was brought under control shortly after 1 p.m., with the help of firefighters from Fire District 1.

Besides the heavy damage to the bedroom, the rest of the house was damaged by smoke and heat.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
