BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

A blood drive is being held today at Boomtown for an ArkLaTex woman seriously injured in a car crash last month.

Lauren Fogger-Tigges, 26, was in a car crash on Blanchard-Latex Road in north Caddo Parish on April 22. Her car flipped several times after her passenger side tires apparently hit some soft dirt on the shoulder of the road and she over-corrected.

The car finally came to a rest upside down, with Lauren still strapped in her seat.

Tigges has had more than a dozen since the crash, as doctors try to save her arms. She had her latest surgery on Wednesday at Parkland Hospital in Dallas.

LifeShare Blood Centers is holding a blood drive from 2:30 to 7:30 p.m. today (Thursday) at Boomtown Casino and Hotel in Bossier City, where Tigges is employed.

Anyone age 16 or older, who meets minimum height and weight requirements and is in good health, can donate blood. (Sixteen-year-old donors must submit a permission form signed by a parent or guardian.)

A fund has also been set up for Tigges to help with medical costs. Click here to make a donation.
