SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

The 300 block of W. 77th Street is the scene of a second shooting in four days, and Sheveport Police are on the hunt for a suspect.

SPD Cpl. Marcus Hines says one man was shot in the leg Monday afternoon as he and another man were exchanging gunfire. The man who was shot was taken to LSU Medical Center  for treatment of his non-life threatening injury.

Thursday's shooting was more serious, leaving one man dead and another behind bars. Police say 20-year-old Buford Johnson was shot while walking in the 300 block of West 77th Street around 5:30 p.m. He was pronounced dead that evening at LSU Medical Center.

Police got a warrant for their suspect on Friday, and Frederick Gipson, 33, of Shreveport, was behind bars by Sunday.

Gipson was caught in a traffic stop as police began a brief investigation of the driver of a white pickup that they had been seeking since Johnson's shooting. Police arrested Gipson on an outstanding warrant and charged him with Johnson's murder.

Gipson is charged with second-degree murder. His bond is set at $175,000.
