SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport police and EMS are on the scene of a wreck on Clyde Fant requiring rescuers to use the jaws of life.

According to KSLA News 12's Sasha Jones, who witnessed the accident, a Honda Civic filled with recent Byrd High School graduates was struck by a pickup truck as it was pulling out of the entrance to the Island Park Apartments this afternoon.

Jones says the Civic spun across the roadway before coming to a stop. A 17-year-old female in the Civic had to be cut out of the vehicle by firefighters using the jaws of life. She has been taken to LSU Hospital. Another occupant of the Civic was also taken to LSU Hospital, and a third to Willis Knighton Pierremont.

Everyone else appears to be okay, including the driver of the pickup truck.

Clyde Fant remains open to traffic, and this is now backup as the result of the wreck.
