SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport police have identified the suspect in the shooting in Cedar Grove that claimed the life of a Shreveport man Thursday evening.

A warrant has been issued for 33-year-old Frederick Gipson of Shreveport, charging him with one count of second degree homicide.

Gipson is wanted for the shooting of 20-year-old Buford Johnson, who was shot while walking in the 300 block of West 77th Street around 5:30 Thursday afternoon. He was later pronounced dead at LSU Hospital.

Investigators say they found evidence linking Gipson to the crime.

The warrant carries a bond amount of $175,000.
