MARSHALL, TX (KSLA) -

The Marshall Police Department issued this release on Wednesday:

The Marshall Police Department has learned of a phishing scam directed at Walmart.com customers. The online customer will receive an email thanking them for their order which they did not place. It will show an order for an item to be shipped to an address that is not the customers. This has been confirmed with Wal-Mart representatives that is in fact a scam.

They are unsure as to how they gained access to the information. Some customers' accounts have been charged depending on what account information they have stored in their profile.

It is highly recommended that you go to your Walmart.com account and delete all credit cards and personal information that you have stored under your account as a precaution especially if you received an email like the one previously described.
