And then there was one.
In a heart-breaking ending to her "American Idol" journey, Woodville native Kree Harrison lost to Candice Glover in the show's finale episode Thursday night.
Glover, 23, of Helena Island South Carolina, and Harrison, 22, both turned in powerhouse performances during Wednesday's episode of "American Idol." However, the show's voters picked Glover as the new "American Idol."
"This moment is what it's all about," Kree Harrison said during Wednesday night's performance show. "I just want to make my family proud. It's all on the line tonight."
The panel of four judges praised the efforts of both singers during Wednesday night's performance episode.
‘That right there is a winning kind of performance - right there what you just did," American Idol judge Randy Jackson told Harrison during Wednesday night's episode. Later, he told both contestants, "You girls slayed it tonight. Amazing performances."
Harrison made it into American Idol's Top 2 on May 9. That night, the show's viewers eliminated 18-year-old Angie Miller of Beverly, Massachusetts.
On Saturday, May 4, Harrison, who had recently made it to the show's Top 3, returned to her hometown. After a brief press conference, a parade was held in her honor through downtown Woodville. Harrison also made an appearance at the Tyler County Rodeo.
Later that evening, thousand of Kree Harrison fans packed Ford Park in Beaumont for the American Idol contestant's homecoming concert. During the concert, Harrison performed several of the songs she did on Idol episodes, including one of her favorites from Aretha Franklin.
