Victim killed in Cedar Grove shooting identified

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

The Caddo Coroner's Office has identified and confirmed the death of a man shot in Cedar Grove on Thursday afternoon.

Caddo Deputy Coroner Greg Clement says 20-year-old Buford Demarcus Johnson died of a single gunshot wound to the chest.

Johnson was shot while in the 300 block of W. 77th Street around 5:30 p.m. He was later pronounced dead at LSU Hospital.

Shreveport Police are searching for a man in a white pickup truck seen leaving the scene.

SPD Cpl. Marcus Hines says police do not have a suspect yet, but are looking for the driver of a white pickup truck with dark-tinted windows.

It was the second shooting in Shreveport Thursday afternoon. The first happened shortly after 3 p.m. in the parking lot of the Break-N-Run bar at 7504 Mansfield Rd., where a woman was shot by a man she was sitting in a pickup truck with.

She was able to break away and seek help and was taken to LSU Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Click here for more details on that story: http://bit.ly/10vwe79
