More than 3,300 customers are without power this evening in Caddo Parish, leaving in the dark mostly those who live in the Highland neighborhood.
AEP SWEPCO spokesperson Kacee Kirschvink says there is a problem in the Stoner Hill subdivision, where a transformer caught fire.
Shreveport Firefighters put out the fire, and now SWEPCO crews are in charge of restoring power to the utility's substation, located at Easy Street and East Eden.
Kirschvink says power should be restored by about 10 p.m.

Outages also were reported in Sabine Parish (199) and in Gregg County, Texas (104).
