NATCHITOCHES PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

The body of a Natchitoches man missing since Saturday morning has been found in the Cane River.

26-year-old Jamarrius Rayborn was last seen leaving the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center, where he was a patient in the emergency room.

Police say Rayborn left the hospital against medical advice, and was last seen walking west on Bienville Street in a hospital gown and gray shorts.

The hospital gown was found a short distance from the hospital.

Family members feared for his safety, because he suffered from mental illness. His mother tells KSLA News 12 that her son was a diagnosed schizophrenic.

Natchitoches police confirm Rayborn's body was found Tuesday morning by a passerby who then called authorities. Rayborn's body has been sent for an autopsy, and his cause of death remains under investigation.
