SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A judge has ordered a Shreveport driving school that was operating without a license to shut down for good. Now, paying customers are on their own when it comes to getting their money back.
Commissioner Steve Campbell says the DMV told the owner of 5 Star Driving School, Donny Brokenberry to stop operating at the end of 2012 because the school no longer had a license to teach. But when the school continued holding classes, the DMV took 5 Star Driving School to court.
A Shreveport judge granted the injunction to shut down the business just two days after KSLA News 12 caught the business emptying out their office. KSLA News 12 spoke with the judge who ordered the injunction about Brokenberry paying back customers. He says the injunction to shut down the school did not apply to refunds and customers would have to take it up with the owner.
