Bossier City teen killed in fiery crash in Natchitoches Parish

NATCHITOCHES PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

A Bossier City teen was killed in a fiery crash in Natchitoches Parish Wednesday afternoon.

Louisiana State Troopers responded to the crash around 5:10 p.m., which occurred on I-49 near LA Hwy 485. The crash involved a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by 19-year-old Savanna Frances Spencer of Bossier City and a 2013 Kenworth, driven by 56-year-old Raymond Owen Roy of Mount Pleasant, Texas.

The Chevrolet heading was northbound on I-49 when Spencer lost control and swerved off the left side of the roadway into the median. The Chevrolet then entered the southbound lanes of I-49 and collided with the Kenworth. After impact, both vehicles became engulfed in flames.

It is unknown if Spencer was wearing her seatbelt. She was pronounced dead.

Roy was wearing his seatbelt and received moderate injuries. He was transported to Natchitoches Regional Hospital.

Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
