BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

Two days after Devonta Demarcus English was killed in a drive-by shooting, his family members and friends gathered to remember him in song and prayer.

About 200 people attended the vigil, held on the spot where English fell Sunday night in the Barksdale Annex neighborhood in Bossier City.

Police say English, 20, was hanging out with 21-year-old Jermarcus Morris on the corner of Burchett St. and Wilder St. just before 10:30 p.m. when someone in a gray sedan believed to be a Chevrolet Impala drove by and fired multiple shots at them.

English was struck in the upper torso and taken to LSU Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Morris was hit in the lower leg near the ankle. He is expected to survive.

No arrests have been made. If you have information about this crime, call Bossier Crime Stoppers at (318) 424-4100.
