Tractor-trailer damages Shreveport Airport entrance; traffic flow affected

The main entrance at Shreveport Regional Airport will be closed intermittently from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday as crews work to remove a canopy damaged by an 18-wheel delivery truck.

Airport authorities say the tractor-trailer struck and became lodged under the canopy of the parking lot security check point at the main airport entrance. As crews work to repair the damage, authorities will allow traffic to enter through the checkpoint about every 15 minutes.

An alternative entrance to the airport and airport parking lot is available from Interstate Drive off Hollywood Avenue just east of the main entrance.

Authorities recommend that departing passengers arrive at least two hours before the scheduled departure to avoid delays caused by the canopy removal process.
