SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Police and fire officials have given the "all clear" at North Highland Elementary School, after it was discovered that a student brought a "dummy grenade" to the campus Friday morning.

Police were called around 7:30 a.m. to the school in the 800 block of Poleman Road. They say a 7-year-old male student brought a dummy grenade with a hole drilled out at the bottom of it to school. The student's father is in the military and had it at home.

Classes resumed after it was determined that the object was harmless.

School officials sent out a notification to parents to let them know that it is "business as usual" at the school. Field Day at the school was canceled, however, due to weather and not the dummy grenade incident.
