CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

Caddo Parish Sheriff's Deputies have identified the driver of an 18-wheeler who was killed Tuesday in a crash on Interstate 20 in Caddo Parish.

Deputies say Pancho Vanchev Ivanov, 30, of Mt. Pleasant, Illinois, was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash that happened in the eastbound lanes between Exit 3 and Exit 5 just before midnight.

Deputies on the scene say it appears to have been related to a wreck that happened around 11:45 p.m. in Shreveport that slowed traffic all the way back into Greenwood. The second accident happened around 12:15 a.m. in Greenwood causing the closure.

The initial investigation has so far revealed that the driver of a TIMCO Logistics rig hauling empty water bottles was rear-ended by another 18-wheeler that failed to slow down.

The TIMCO Logistics driver was identified as Steven Everitt, 58, of Waxahachie, TX.  He was treated at the scene and is expected to be OK.

Ivanov was the driver of the second rig, which belongs to A&B Logistics of Elk Grove Village, Illinois. Deputies have not said what the second rig was hauling, but it was not hazardous material.

There was an oil spill and a DOTD sand truck was dispatched to the scene.

The eastbound lanes between Exit 3 and Exit 5 were closed until the wreck was cleared later Tuesday morning.
