Information provided by the Shreveport Police Department:

Two men suspected of committing multiple felonies are now in police custody thanks in part to DNA evidence.

Shreveport Police investigators have now charged two men accused of participating in multiple felonious crimes, after DNA evidence recovered from the respective crime scenes was matched to at least one of the accused. Jeremy Foster 25, of the 2900 block of Exposition Avenue in Shreveport, was charged in connection with a burglary that occurred back on March 1st of this year, at a local car dealership located in the 8700 block of Business Park Drive.  During the burglary, two vehicles were stolen from the car dealership, which were later linked to a second burglary that occurred at a convenience store located in the 5900 block of Youree drive.  During the second burglary, suspects used the vehicles stolen from the car dealership to steal an ATM that was located inside the convenience store. Recovered DNA evidence directly linked Foster to the crime.

During ongoing investigation, Foster was additionally developed as a suspect in the February 5, 2013, armed robbery of the Capital One Bank located in the 6100 block of Greenwood Road.  During the robbery, two masked men entered the bank armed with rifles.  After robbing the bank, both suspects fled the business driving an orange Dodge Challenger.  Authorities later located the suspects stolen getaway car, abandoned near the 5800 block of Jefferson Paige Road.  Authorities have since developed 24 year old Michel Starks of the 200 block of East 77th Street as a suspect in the bank robbery.  Starks was taken into custody shortly before noon today at his East 77th Street home.  Foster, who was arrested on April 20, 2013 for an unrelated charge, now faces two counts of simple burglary and a single count of armed robbery with an enhanced penalty for using a firearm during the commission of the robbery.   Starks has been charged with a single count of armed robbery and was subsequently booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
