BOSSIER PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

Water has been restored to a South Bossier Neighborhood, after a main break left neighbors without water for two days. Construction crews damaged the water main while working on a bridge crossing the Flat River. Workers spent much of Thursday drilling a new hole under the river to replace the water main.

Initially 100 homes were without water, but that number was reduced to 50 homes by Thursday afternoon. Many homes in that area have back up water wells and neighbors say they tried to stay positive during the experience, "You don't really realize how much water you use until you don't have it," said neighbor Cristina Gallucci, who had to shower and wash clothes at her mother's house.

Water was turned back on to all homes Thursday night when the water main was repaired. Sligo Water Systems President Cheryl McIntire says a boil water notice is now in affect for Sligo Water System customers in Bossier Parish. Water must be boiled through Monday at the latest. Further tests will be performed on that date.
