2 indicted for murder in Marshall shooting

The two people accused in the shooting death of a Marshall, Texas man in his home in March have been indicted by a grand jury in Harrison County.

31-year-old Jason Stevens Rand and 21-year-old Oriel Jacinta Alexander were arrested in Houston two days after 28-year-old David James "Cherry Bomb" Cherry, Jr. was found dead in his Georgetown Road home early on the morning of March 8 with a single gunshot wound to the head.

Police found the body after responding to a 911 call reporting that there was a man inside the home covered in blood and unable to come to the door. 

Surveillance video was released later that day, showing the a man and woman identified by police as Rand and Alexander knocking on and entering the exiting the front door of Cherry's home several times shortly before the murder is believed to have taken place.

They have remained at the Harrison County Jail since they were transferred from Houston shortly after their arrests. Their bond has been set at $500,000 each.
