Shreveport Police will hold a safety checkpoint this Friday night in eastern Shreveport.
The checkpoint begins at 11 p.m. on Friday and runs until 3 a.m. Saturday. It is part of a collaborative effort between multiple agencies to "emphasize our commitment to make the streets of our city safe for everyone."
Officers will be checking for impaired drivers and any other violations that would compromise the safety of our citizens.
The Louisiana Highway Commission will be utilizing its' "BAT Mobile" as part of the continuing effort to curb the number of those impaired drivers who take to the streets each year.
