BOSSIER PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

A Shreveport man was found guilty of armed robbery Friday in a Bossier District Court.

Robert Clark, 34, was convicted of robbing Emerson's convenience store back in May 2011 on Hwy. 157 in Haughton, according to the Bossier Sheriff's Office.

Deputies say the prosecution cited a match between a spent cartridge casing found at the crime scene and cartridge casings from a .45 pistol that Clark owned at the time of the robbery. During the robbery, Clark fired a round into the floor between two Emerson's employees, to frighten them, and he left the spent casing behind when he fled the scene.

Clark later sold the pistol to a man who test-fired the pistol into a tree, deputies say. Bossier Sheriff crime scene investigators recovered the spent casings, and the North Louisiana Criminalistics Laboratory made a 100-percent positive match.

Another factor in the prosecution's case was that cell phone records put Clark in the area of Emerson's at the time of the robbery.

Assisting in the execution of a search warrant and an arrest warrant at Clark's home in Shreveport were Shreveport Police and Louisiana State Police.
