Jury selection scheduled to begin in "Marlo Mike" murder trial
Michael "Marlo Mike" Louding
BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
Jury selection is scheduled to begin Thursday in Baton Rouge district court in the first murder trial of Michael "Marlo Mike" Louding.
Louding is accused of six murders. This trial is for the murder of Terry Boyd, who was gunned down at a house on Vermillion Drive in 2009.
Louding was 17 years old at the time. District Court Judge Trudy White who is presiding over the case asked each potential juror what they knew about "Marlo Mike" and Baton Rouge rapper "lil boosie." One potential juror said he was related to the victim and that man was dismissed.
Last year, he cut a deal agreeing to testify he was hired to kill Boyd by rapper Torrence Hatch, also known as "Lil Boosie." When Louding took the stand, he refused to testify against Hatch, who was acquitted on all charges.
Judge White says they will work Saturday and try to get to testimony on Monday. The trial is expected to last two weeks.
