BOSSIER PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

The driver and passenger of an ATV were thrown from the vehicle Wednesday after it drove into a Dodge pickup truck in Bossier Parish.

Louisiana State Police say the incident happened about 11 a.m. on Wallace Road south of La. Hwy. 537.

Troopers say their preliminary investigation revealed that the Honda ATV, driven by Marlon Oliver, 31, of Plain Dealing, was traveling south on Wallace Road when it entered a curve and crossed into the northbound land directly into the path of a Dodge truck driven by Brent Roberson, 29, of Waldo, Arkansas. The Honda struck the front right corner of the Dodge.

Oliver was ejected and taken to a hospital in Bossier City for treatment of moderate injuries, troopers say. The passenger on the Honda, Ronnie Lefear, 18, of Plain Dealing, was ejected and air lifted to a hospital in Shreveport. Oliver and Lefear were not wearing helmets. Roberson was properly restrained and did not report any injuries.

Alcohol use is not suspected, troopers say. Routine toxicology samples were obtained and will be submitted for analysis. Oliver was cited with driving left of center and an ATV on a roadway. The crash remains under investigation.
