Pano's Diner to close its downtown Shreveport doors

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A landmark restaurant, Pano's Diner, will close its doors in downtown Shreveport this week.

Brothers Andrew Panos, 78, and Chris Panos, 75, bought Pano's Diner in 1957, and it's been open ever since.

The diner at 422 Milam St. has been bought to build apartment homes, and the brothers say they are just too old to relocate.

"Mother nature and father time just don't wait," Andrew Pano says.

Customers say they are sad to see it go. Several Louisiana governors have dined at Pano's.

The diner will close on April 19.
