SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A Shreveport man is expected to recover, after a tree came crashing down into his bedroom Wednesday night.

It happened at a home in the 200 block of Dalzell Street shortly after 9 p.m.

The man, who is described as being in his 60s, found himself pinned in his bed.

He was able to talk to his rescuers as they worked to free him, and he did not appear to be seriously injured.

It took several units from the Shreveport Fire Department more than an hour and a half to free the man. The large fallen tree had to be stabilized first.

The man has been taken to LSU Hospital for observation.
