BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

The Bossier City teenager critically injured in a rollover wreck Wednesday night has died.

18-year-old Cody Mauldin was thrown from the SUV he was riding in when the driver lost control at the I-220 westbound off ramp at Swan Lake road just before 6:45 p.m.

Police say Mauldin was not wearing a seatbelt. He was taken to LSU Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police say a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero Sport left I-220 via the off ramp when the driver lost control, causing the SUV to roll over multiple times.

The driver of the SUV has been identified as 17-year-old Joshua Gibson. Gibson and a second male passenger, 17-year-old Nicholas Housley, were both wearing seatbelts.

They suffered minor to moderate injuries and were taken to Willis Knighton in Bossier for treatment. They were released Wednesday night.

Police say the crash remains under investigation.
