LIBERTY EYLAU, TX (KSLA) -

The second suspect in a burglary interrupted by a Liberty Eylau homeowner Tuesday morning has been taken into custody.

It happened around 10 a.m. at a home on Cummings Lane near Randall Road. Homeowner Jonathan Evans tells KSLA News 12 that he came home and found burglars inside, so he grabbed his gun and started shooting.

The burglars took off, but not before the homeowner emptied his weapon into the getaway vehicle.

The first suspect, 17-year-old DeAngelo Daniels, was taken into custody a short time later, after he was found walking along Hwy 59.

The second suspect was captured a few hours later during a search of the area using canine units from the Bowie County Sheriff's Office and the Texarkana, TX. 23-year-old James Liggans was located in a wooded area past the dead end of Quail Brook Drive.

While he did not appear to have been shot, Liggans was taken to Wadley Regional Medical Center for treatment of an unspecified injury before being taken to the Bi-State Justice Center for booking.

Neither suspect has been identified.
