NSU run-ruled by Islanders, 11-0

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi  answered the Northwestern State baseball team's run-rule on Friday with one of its own Saturday with an 11-0 win over the Demons in Southland Conference play to even the series at one.
The rubber match of the set will be played on Sunday at 1 o'clock and can be heard on 100.7 KZBL in Natchitoches and on NSUDemons.com by live stream.
Every batter in Corpus Christi's (20-14, 7-4 SLC) lineup had at least one run batted in, and Trevor Belicek (5-1) threw six shutout inning and gave up seven hits in a seven inning win.
Andrew Adams (0-6) got the start for the Demons (11-24, 2-9 SLC) and threw only two innings and gave up three runs on four hits. 

A.J. Funk and Zach Krebs combined for 3.1 innings and gave up eight runs on nine hits and a walk. The Islanders only struck out once, and left only one runner on base.
Corpus Christi's Brad Lamberti was three-for-three on the night and had one RBI and two runs scored.  Blake Tierney was two-of-three with a two-run home run that sparked the onslaught in the second inning.
The Islanders had a huge inning in the third with five runs and a big one in the sixth with four plated runners that sealed the game. 

Brad Porras, Eric Weiss, Jonathan Gonales, Zack Taylor all had one-run hits in the third inning, including Weiss who doubled to right center to scored Cody Stephens.

Kyle Danford, Lamberti, and Stephens all had RBIs in the sixth, and Danford (double) and Stephens (triple) had extra base hits.
The number four through seven hittersfor Northwestern State were four-of-nine, while the rest of the lineup was three-of-15. No Demon had more than one hit
The Demons will return home on Tuesday to take on Louisiana Tech at 6:30, and then will finish the suspended game against Louisiana-Lafayette on Wednesday at 6:30.
