Politifact Virginia: Congressman Bobby Scott and the Ryan budget plan

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

In this week's Politifact Virginia report, Congressman Bobby Scott doesn't like the budget proposed by Republican House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan. Scott in particular is upset about Ryan's plans for the Obama Health Care Reform Plan.

"He keeps all of the Obamacare taxes and spending cuts that paid for Obamacare, but then cuts all of the benefits," said Scott on the John Fredericks radio show.

Is that true? Is Ryan keeping the spending and taxes, but losing the benefits? According to Politifact Virginia Reporter Warren Fiske that claim is "mostly true".

"Right now the Ryan budget depends on revenues that are coming in from the Obamacare taxes and end the Obamacare taxes and replace them with very complicated tax reform that will take away popular loopholes and the like," he said.
