KSLA transmitter back up after power outage

SHREVEPORT-BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

UPDATE: As of 9:04 p.m., power was restored to the main transmission tower for KSLA, returning the broadcast signal to the airwaves.

A tree fell on a power line not far from the Mooringsport transmitter in Caddo Parish early Tuesday evening, knocking out power to the transmitter.

KSLA News 12 switched the broadcast signal to a backup tower while work was done to restore power to the main tower.

Operating on a generator, the backup tower is not quite as powerful as the main transmitter, so some KSLA News 12 viewers were not able to get a clear, consistent signal while this work was being done.
