HOPKINS COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

The Hopkins County Sheriff's Department has located a man wanted for questioning in regards to the escape of two inmates from the Hopkins County Jail.

The man showed up at the sheriff's department after a friend saw that police were looking for him and called him.

Based on an investigation, the man confessed to leaving a note saying there was a possible hostage situation and that he needed help. He was charged with tampering or fabricating physical evidence, a third degree felony. Officials say there were no ties between the man and the escaped inmates, Brian Tucker and John King.

On April 2, Tucker and King escaped from a recreation yard at the Hopkins County Jail. They were arrested two days later in Cooper, TX about 20 miles from the jail where they escaped. One man, Charles Hensey, 62, was arrested and charged with two counts of hindering apprehension, a third degree felony.
