Centenary's Tromba named SCAC Pitcher of Week

Centenary's Layton Tromba was named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday.

Tromba tossed his sixth, complete-game win of the season (nine-innings) with a 3-1 decision at Trinity. The Bossier City, La., native held the conference's top hitting team to just one run and fanned four hitters during the contest. The win marked the third of four wins over the Tigers this season for the Gents.

Tromba becomes the second pitcher this season to claim the SCAC's weekly award joining Ryan Lucero of Trinity.

The Gents have staked claim to seven, SCAC weekly honors this season.

Centenary returns to action on Friday, Apr. 5 as the Gents travel to the University of Texas at Tyler for the first of a three-game series.
