SPD: 2nd arrest in robbery, shooting on LSU-S campus
SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
Shreveport Police have arrested the second of three people sought in the armed robbery of two people early Saturday on the campus of LSU-Shreveport. Police say more arrests are imminent.
Police say a 16-year-old juvenile is charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery. He was booked into the Caddo Juvenile Detention Center.
Things started on March 23 when officers responded to a shooting at the University Court Apartments in the 8400 block of Youree Drive. That's where police found a man suffering from a single gunshot wound to the leg.
Authorities say they later learned that the victim was not enrolled at LSU-S and had been lured there by the juvenile under false pretense.
In the parking lot, the victim was allegedly shot in the leg by one of the suspects before all three ran from the scene.
The shooting victim was taken to LSU Health Center for non-life threatening injuries.
That night, authorities arrested Scott Houston, 19, of the 3100 block of Milam street. Houston is charged with armed robbery.
Shreveport Police say they are confident that the arrest of the additional suspect is near.
Anyone with information about the crime is urged to call Caddo Crime Stoppers at 673-7373.
