SPD: Two employees robbed at restaurant, robber at large
SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
The search is on for a man who robbed employees at a Shreveport restaurant Tuesday night.
Shreveport police say just after 11:15 p.m. they responded to a report of a robbery at the Long John Silver's restaurant in the 1300 block of Kings Highway.
Police say one of two female employees was taking out the trash and was confronted by a man who forced her back into the restaurant at gunpoint. The robber then told the employee to go back where the safe was before telling a second female employee to open the safe. Both employees told the robber that the safe was on a timer and could not be opened. They say he became angry and cocked his handgun and said he was going to kill them.
As the women pleaded for their lives, the robber told them to empty their purses. He took a small amount of money before he ran away.
The employees were not harmed.
Police brought in K-9 units to search the area.
The suspect is described as a black man weighing about 270 lbs., 6'2" wearing all black clothing and a black mask. His gun was described as a silver semiautomatic handgun.
