One arrest has been made in the robbery and shooting of another man last Saturday night on the campus of LSU-Shreveport.

Police were called to the University Court Apartments just before midnight for a report of shots fired.

There, they found the man, who is not a student at LSUS, with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken to LSU Hospital, but he is expected to survive and is talking to investigators.

According to police, the man says he was talking to a female friend in the parking lot of the student housing complex when it happened. They say the two were allegedly approached by a 3 men, one of them armed. The victims were reportedly ordered to the ground before the man was robbed of his personal belongings and shot. The woman, while shaken, was not injured.

The suspects reportedly fled in a white vehicle, possibly a sedan.

Investigators were able to get license plate information that led them to a home in the 3100 block of Milam Street in Shreveport. At the home, officers found a white sedan matching the description of the suspect's vehicle. Inside, they found 19-year-old Scott Houston, who police say matched the description of one of the three men involved in the robbery.

Houston was interviewed by investigators and booked into the Shreveport City Jail, charged with armed robbery.

Shreveport police say they are working with officials from Louisiana State University Shreveport and "are confident that the arrest of additional suspects is imminent"
